The research project Turkish Pop Music Images investigates Turkish pop music from the 1960s to the early 1980s as well as the related communication design, from record covers to magazines, from cinema posters to performances in films and clips.
In the workshop, Cornelia Lund and Holger Lund explored material from the project archive together with the participants and had a look at the traces of local gazino culture. The aim of the workshop was to collaboratively look at the images, listen to the music and discuss their social and political meaning(s) for the historical and our contemporary contexts.
